Wangi Wangi Power Station
The Wangi Wangi Anbandoned Power Station, located in Wangi Wangi, New South Wales, Australia, holds historical significance as one of the earliest power stations in the region. The Wangi Wangi Power Station was established in the early 20th century to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the Lake Macquarie area. It was commissioned by the Lake Macquarie and District Electric Supply Company Limited (LMDESCL) to provide electricity to Wangi Wangi and surrounding communities. While the Wangi Wangi Power Station may no longer be operational or may have been replaced by modern facilities, its legacy lives on in residents' memories and through historical documentation. It serves as a reminder of the region's industrial heritage and the importance of electricity in shaping community life.

This recording is an Ambisonic four channel ambient recording captured within the first main warehouse upon entering the facility. The room shows heavy decay from years of abandonment. Windows are smashed with all machinery removed leaving behind an enormous empty internal space.
Ambisonic Ambient recording captured within the second main warehouse. This area has more of the buildings internal foundations and old abandoned machinery.
This Ambisonic recording is situated in the back of the facility, you can hear the strange haunting bird calling throughout the recording, I never could find it on the day.
