Mosman Gunner Tunnels

The Mosman Gunner Tunnel System, situated within Middle Head Military Fortifications, was built-in 1877 and has remained one of Sydney's iconic relics from a bygone era. The limestone tunnel system overlooks Sydney Harbour, and lies beneath several large calibre guns that once stood guard to protect Sydney from any would-be attackers following the departure of the British army in the late 1800’s (Fitzsimons, 2014).

Field Recording Archive

The field recorded materials presented below contain the original, un-edited audio collected while exploring the Mosman Gunner tunnel system. The binaural audio files are down loadable at 24bit/96khz. The Ambience and impulse response files are four-channel (first order)ambisonic files, downloadable at 24bit/96khz.

This recording contains a binaurally captured field recording. This method informs the sonic narritve as I move through and explore the tunnel systems.

The Ambisonic ambient recording was captured within the entry way to the tunnel system.

Ambisonic Ambient recording captured further towards the middle section of the tunnel system.
